Comprehensive guide outlining the necessary information associated with owners, financial interest holders, labor peace agreement, declarations, fee assessment, documents, and payment for the CLEaR renewal. This resource provides step-by-step instructions to ensure a smooth renewal process.
Owners Verification
To begin, review that the “List of Owners” and “Entity Ownership” is current. If the list of owners or entity information is inaccurate, the licensee must submit Form DCC LIC 27: Notifications and Requests to Modify a License and submit to licensechange@cannabis.ca.gov. Please move forward with the renewal after the form has been emailed.
For more information on this section you can refer to the Owner Submittal Form DCC 9101. The Department will use the information provided to determine the owner’s qualification for licensure. Failure to provide the requested information will result in processing delays.
Financial Interest Holders
Verify “Financial Interest Non-Owners” and “Entity Financial Interests” is current. If the list of Financial Interest Holders is not accurate, the licensee must report the changes using form DCC LIC 027 and submit it to licensechange@cannabis.ca.gov. Please move forward with the renewal after the form has been submitted. Then attest to the Financial Interest Verification and click Continue.
Labor Peace Agreement (LPA)
Select your answer to the questions below regarding number of employees. Depending on what you select, you will need to provide either a form DCC 9205 of notarization, or a copy of the signature page of your LPA when you reach the document upload screen. In addition, you will need to provide the Labor Organization name and the LPA expiration date.
Select “Continue Application” to move on to the next page.
Declarations
Select “Yes” or “No” in the “Declarations” section then click “Continue.” If you select “No” to the under penalty of perjury section, an error message will display, and you will be unable to complete the renewal. Please email Licensing@cannabis.ca.gov for assistance.
Note: For Distributor-Transport Only Renewal, you will need to include your “License Type and License Number” under the Declarations Section.
Fee Assessment
In the Fee Assessment section select the estimated gross revenue for the business’s 12-month license period. Then type in the Total Gross Revenue to-date for the current license period. Click “Continue. “
Documents
The next section requires you to upload documents to support your total gross revenue for the current license period and Labor Peace Agreement requirement. Click on the Add button for each document in the list.
Examples of acceptable gross revenue documentation includes, but is not limited to:
- A copy of the licensee’s state tax return
- A detailed Profit and Loss statement (P&L) showing gross revenue for the license period
Upload all the required documents and click Continue when done.
